Disappointment
I have just embarked onto the career boat. Before I know it, I am in the REAL world...working to make a living.
Before school reopened last week, I was so full of enthusiasm to meet my new class - I am their new form teacher. I had great plans and want to make a difference - to ensure that every child in my class achieves his/her best. I want them to realise their potential and know that they can do it if they try........... but then again, that's just enthusiasm...
I was greeted with by a class which has...
- a pupil who didn't turn up to school for 5 days straight...uncontactable
- a pupil who only comes on alternate days
- a pupil who didn't turn up to school because his leg was in 'pain'
To add to the teaching role were various miscellaneous tasks. Individually they are minor...but every bit adds up to be a mountain of a time to complete.
The first week has traumatised me. God, please give me the strength to bounce back to fulfill my role of being an educator...
