J06 CIBTC is almost over.
I probably will add another post on the course but for now, I'd like to share with the readers some words shared during the debriefs of the Residential period of the Course, by the Trainees.
I am most interested to hear about the debrief on the definition of 4 words, and somehow that debrief set me thinking quite a bit.
Below is the extract from what the Trainee has mentioned...
Vision: An illustionary thing in which you will work towards, gets near, but never get there, and this is there to make you feel good and allow you to have a goal to work towards.
Target: A more realistic thing, just like a target sheet, something that's in front of you, but if you do nothing, there will be nothing on it, no scores on it, and you get nothing out of it.
Aim: Something closer to you, just like when shooting, you take an aim before you shoot. This allows you to zoom into what you want. Though it takes a little more effort, if you don't do anything, you will still get nothing out of it.
Effort: This brings all the above together. It brings you closer to your vision, allow you to get to your target, and achieve what you have aimed.
There were also other points mentioned and here are what the Trainee shared with me...
- It not able whether you can do it, it is about whether you will do it. Even if you can, it doesn't necessarily mean you would, and that you should. Only by knowing this, will you set out to achieve what you aimed to do.
- On effort. If everyone were to give a little more effort, a little effort, mutiplied by the number of participants we have creates a huge effort. And this makes the difference.
- There is no shortcuts in life, hardships move us ahead.
- To motivate others, first motivate yourself, make yourself able to have the ability to motivate others, and all these will fall into place.
- Every scar a lesson, every battle a test of what you have learnt. (Every scar that is left behind from a battle is a lesson learnt, and in every battle, what you have learnt is often put ot the test. Similarly, in life, every lesson learnt "scars" you, and all these are often put to test by what we have done, or are going to do.)
- A lesson hard learnt is a knowledge well earned. (Every lesson never comes easy. Every knowledge you earn has a price to pay. For everything you have learnt through either the hard way, or even softer methods, are lessons "hard learnt" and these will be with you no matter what. Therefore, it is "well earned")
- When everything is gone, you can only look back. (When everything is gone, or everything has left you, what you have left is only your memories, so cherish them and remember what you like to, what you have to and what you ought to.)
- When everything is over, don't look back. (Looking back is a form of regret, you look back because there is something you done/ have not done so you regretted that and looked back. So do not look back. Look forward and head for what you have set to achieve, and take pride in what you have done.)
I hope the points mentioned above will inspire you as how it has to me.
Thanks to CIT Yi Cheng for sharing with me.
