2005

2005 has been a pretty happening year for me...it could have been my best year so far...how coincidence it may be...on my 21st year...

Kicking off 2005 would be the most precious birthday present I'd ever received...a whole board of knots! Oh yeah, not to forget to double it up with the fact that it came from a special someone. :-) "It is the thought that counts" can be abused sometimes, but not in this case. A great example how you don't need to spend so much money, just to make a great gift!

Then came NPCC Day Parade 2005. Part of my aspiration to be involved in the NPCC Day Parade has been fulfilled. The time I get to work with the people I had hoped to be working with, was during that time. It was definitely memorable working together and chatting with Dennis, Daniel, Kamaliah, Eng Kuan, Peck Hor, Wen Liang, Fadzil, Nelson, Gim Yan, Raudah.

Wen Liang & Fadzil - The two flawless Officers in Attendance who are damn synchronised, accurate and sharp with their drill execution...one word to describe them..."WOW"
Raudah - The pretty and hot young lady who accompanied the above-mentioned gentlemen
Gim Yan & Nelson - The two CIs who professionally nurtured the flag-bearers...their skills are of much respectable value
Peck Hor & Eng Kuan - The two cute, in terms of their actions (no, I am not gay), CIs...one with an injured chin and the other who got commented by FI Firdaus about...nvm. But hey hey, they are very nice people to chat with!
Den, Dan and Kam - The two GOH Commanders and the NPCC Flag Bearer. Very keen learners, put in so much effort...I am very proud of them! I miss the times we spend after trainings...

I got posted to Poi Ching School for my contract teaching. What a challenge. I hate kids! First day...no training, no introduction and pomp! I was thrown into a classroom to teach...EL, MA, SCI, PE...aka...form teacher of a P3 class.

Okay well, felt awkward...trying to hold back my hatred for them. But life has to go on. And ya...first day, I have to teach 3H...aka 3 HELL! I never thought P3s can be so...so...unmanageable! I'll save the details.

But yeah, teaching in Poi Ching was a blessing. I learn to love the kids...I consoled myself by saying that no matter how naughty they are, they are after all kids...and some kids are just plain naughty (and 'stupid') because of their parents (no offence). As I remembered...we are all born genius...only to be degeniusnised (manz...wait till I become a parent and tell myself that!).
Pretty good experience - attending to unreasonable parents, pupils peeing in pants, pupils crying almost everyday when you talk to them, feeling nervous at MTPA (instead of the students feelign such), met friendly teachers (Siti Hawa, Jeanne Phuah, Mrs Lee vball, etc), applying NPCC techniques on the class (wahaha...5,4,3,2,1...again!)...etc. Thanks for Mdm Foo for recommending me getting enrolled in NIE by 2005.

I miss teaching at Poi Ching School... I learnt that if you have the passion to do something, everything becomes enjoyable. And it is very important to take up a job that you love...so that it won't be a chore. Can you imagine you're being paid for doing your hobby?
In between teaching, I also went for J05 CIBTC. Another dream-come-true for me as I've always wanted to be helping in CI course. Learnt so much stuffs during the IPC, thanks to people like Edwin Tan, Nelson Wong, See Cheng Yun, etc.

J05 CIBTC has been the concrete enforcer to my belief that it doesn't matter which batch the CI is from, it is how much the CI has utilised his time in service...to learn and to apply.
Thanks to Xiaojun, I got to become a Sq Instructor with Chengyun. Oh yeah, it was a memorable experience during RC...I shan't go into details either. Chengyun, if given the chance, would you partner with me again? Lolz!

And thanks to Xiaojun again, I got to pair up with the sexy Shiyun for the ATC group...lolz! And manz, wasn't ATC memorable for me. Okay...I wish it was longer. Shiyun...I miss those times we discussed together prior to the ATC and working with you during the course itself...you're a great partner!

And of course, J05 CIBTC was the time when I got to work with Dennis again and got to know Haojun better. Both very friendly and knowledeable people who I really treasure the friendship with. And yeah, I enjoy and treasure the time working with Irfah as well...hope to be working with you on official partnership in the near future.

Then came the time I got enrolled in NIE...oh well, I thought it will be a dead life...but apparently I was motivated to study in NIE...thanks to people like Paula, Melzone, John, Rina. They were my study group and their intelligence shared was very valuable to me.
There were others like Den Mui (my ICT partner), Dillon (thanks for the rides home), Nadiah (thanks for the songs), Moi, Nazeha'a, Cindy, Aisyah, etc who have provided great companionship for me during my first semester.

And thanks to the above-mentioned personnels, I have manage to taste success again...after facing failure and huge setbacks in JC times. I hope to tase success again in the coming semester. I reap what I sow...I need to put in more effort!

Once again...Paula, Mel, Rina, John...thank you for contributing to my success in academics.
Area 9 ATC 2005 was a success! It was no doubt the best ATC I've seen so far from Area 9. A commendable effort by the coordinators - Zaid, Raudah, Desmond, Lup Peng. The planning was done well enough, the activities were suffice and enriching, well done!. The double fireball (done by Zulkarnain and co) was the best fireball I've seen in many ATCs...wow! The campers were also great...the cheers were fantastic...I enjoyed the cheers a lot! Well done Area 9!

And amongst those who contributed to the success of Area 9 ATC were the 'external' instructors. I really would like to thank those like Zhiyan, Sheng Xiang, Xiumin, Zhihui, Siming, Theresa, Cinderine, Faizal (MacPherson), Daniel, Kian Ruey, etc...for helping out in the various activities...and helping out well! Your services are ver valuable and reliable.
Next year's ATC Coordinators...good luck! Lolz...

End of the year came...and I got another news...CC06. Well, I never thought this kind of oppurtunity would come my way, but thanks to Cynthia...it did.

The CC06 is still in the process. But along the way, I am glad that I will be workign with a pool of people whom I have respect for, namely...Cynthia, Siming, Paul, Clara, Nelson, Xiaojun, Zhihui, Damien...I hope that I will be able a lot more from them.

End of the year was also when I got to work with Zulkarnain and Azrul. Thank you for giving me the oppurtunity to learn about your unit. I hope I have served the both of you well and my apologies for any wrongdoings or mishaps I have done. But the both of you really make good buddies. And Azrul, don't worry, I won't want to steal your ermz...darlings (pukes). And yeah, thanks for letting me bring along my NCO to your unit as well.

Which brings me to the next issue, my NCO - Weibin. Weibin has taught me that when one is willing, one will find a way. His performance has been pretty commendable since I got to know him. I commend him for his discipline, keep improving. My personal goal for him is to see him achieve his fullest potential in NPCC when he graduate in sec 5 2007 as well as, and especially, seeing him performing well for his O-levels.

2005 is also the year my Lifesaving batchmates graduate (some of them). I am very happy to see Huihua, Kheng Ming and Yan Han receiving the SPF-NPCC badge as well as the highest rank attainable at cadet level - Station Inspector. Congratulations once again.

It started in January...it began in December 2005...it ends into the unknown...

This is a very long post...I know...and I don't think I am able to post every detail about 2005. But this post serves as a reminder and a memoir for me...for the year of 2005...any comments?
